Facilities at your Community Fitness training gym

Community Fitness Kerikeri Gym

Training gym equipment and working out

The gym is packed with all your favourite machines and equipment, weight benches, and everything you need for a full workout.

You can use our facilities as often as you wish – and there’s even member unstaffed access from 4am to 11pm daily. Plus there’s unlimited access to our group fitness classes for members – check out the gym timetable. Find out more about our Kerikeri gym membership options.

Powerlifting training

Powerlifting gym training is conjunction with the Northland Powerlifting Association.

The powerlifting group is run by Trish Muldrock, and there are regular give-it-a-go sessions for novices, plus classes for those looking to improve their powerlifting technique. Community Fitness members have been known to compete in the powerlifting Regionals and Grand Finals!

Contact our Kerikeri gym for more details about powerlifting.

Join Gym Community Fitness Kerikeri Gym Personal Training

Personal training

We have our own in-house personal trainers, as well as contracted PTs who work with clients at our training gym.

As a member, you’ll receive an initial customised personal fitness training programme as part of your membership. During the PT session, your personal trainer will take you through the programme and show you around the training gym. They’ll make sure you know how to use the machines, and the best techniques to use.

This is all covered in one session, and the personal training programme is yours to keep. If you outgrow your personal training programme, contact one of our personal trainers to update it. Note that additional personal training sessions and programmes are at an additional cost.

Check out our awesome personal trainers here.

Free child minding service

Your gym membership includes free child minding. This is available 9am to 10.30am, Monday to Friday. There’s no need to book. The child minding service is suitable for babies through to children of four years of age.

AFTER YOUR WORKOUT

As you’d expect, we have showers and lockers available at the training gym. Perfect if you’re heading off to work – or a night out.

Will injury or health issues prevent me from training?

Our trainers will assess and carefully go through any concerns you may have and advise you accordingly. Rehabilitation is an important aspect of gym training and we can help!

How fit do I need to be before I join?

You can join the training gym at any and all levels of fitness; it’s our job to help you on your fitness journey and we’re happy to start from the beginning with you!

Is there care for my kids?

Yes! We have a kids’ room and child minders who look after the kids from 9am to 10:30am weekdays. This is FREE as part of your membership, so there are no excuses for you not to sneak in a workout! You can also leave kids that are a little bit older in our kids’ room outside of the child minding hours: we can pop on a DVD or there’s free wifi!

Can I use all the facilities?

Yes! Our gym memberships are fully inclusive and give you unlimited access to all our training facilities and our Group Fitness classes. Your membership includes a free consultation a personal trainer. Check out the Kerikeri gym membership options.

Monday to Friday 5:30am to 7:00pm.

Saturday 8:00am to 12:00pm.

Do you sell casual day passes?

We sure do. Check out the various options for casual training on the Membership page.

Do I need to book for group fitness classes?

You need to book for all the live group fitness classes – but there’s no need to book the virtual (televised) classes.

You can see all the classes on our online schedule or on our app for Android or Apple

How do I book a spot in a class?

Booking is easy, simply head over to our app – ‘GymMaster Member Portal’ for Android or Apple or go to Gym Master Login. If you’re logging in for the first time, simply click on ‘forgot password’ to generate an email with a password link then log in, select your class and hit book! See reception if you have any issues.

How do I cancel my membership?

There are no contracts at Community Fitness and no cancellation fees. See us at reception or give us a call to let us know you’re cancelling and then simply stop your AP. Note that you will have to pay the activation fee again if you’d like to re-join in the future.

How old do I need to be to join?

Our minimum age for gym fitness training and a full gym membership is 14 years old. However, if you’re really keen but not quite there yet, don’t despair: we have a few options available for our juniors.

There are FitKids classes for ages 6 to 10, and TeenFit classes for ages 11 to 14.

Kids 12 years or older can do most of our group fitness classes (with the exception of BODYPUMP and SPRINT) but parents/caregivers do need to train with them.

Where can I learn about your specials, news, class schedules and other training gym info?

We recommend you head on over to our Facebook page; this will keep you up to date with all the news, promos and any last-minute changes to class schedules. Plus it’s a great way to connect with the rest of the gym family!

What happens to my membership if I get sick or go away on holiday?

Your membership can be suspended when you go on holiday for up to six weeks in a 12-month period. Simply let us know when you’re going away, pop your APs on hold, and then restart when you get back.

If medical issues are preventing you from training then please get in touch with us to talk about your options.

Do I need to wear anything special?

No, well kind of. You can wear whatever you feel comfortable training in, that doesn’t restrict your movement. But for health and safety reasons you MUST wear closed, covered shoes when you’re training (no work boots please!), a t-shirt, no bare chests, and bike pants underneath shorts are recommended.

We ask that you please bring a towel to training with you, and that you wear deodorant. It is recommended that you bring a water bottle.
